A Name of a Cat (ネコの名 江戸小話より)

I made a picture book for a project. The story is one of short stories of Edo.
I drew illustrations on it.

the title page

There are a few kids gathered, talking about something.

A boy said, “I got a cat the other day. But it doesn’t
have a name yet,
I want to name it to be the strongest
of all cats. Tell me if you have an idea.”

And his friends said to him one after another.
“Well, you should name it ‘blue sky’.
It sounds so huge and nice.”

“Maybe a cloud is better than a blue sky.
Why don’t you name it ‘cloud’?”

”No, cloud can’t be stronger than a wind. It will be blown away.”

“Then…should I name it ’wind’?” said the boy.
“Idon’t think so. A wind can’t be stronger than a wall.
See, wall is a windproof.”
“That’s true. Okay, let’s name it ‘wall’!”

“Wait a minute. A wall can be bitten by a rat.”

“Well then, lets name it ‘rat’.”

“But hey, a rat is no match for a cat.”

“Right. Then let’s name it just simply ‘cat’.”

And they all said, “That’s a great idea!”

学校の課題で’江戸小話’より’ネコの名’というお話にイラストを描いてみました。
